Holkan is currently a Ph.D. student in Environmental Sciences and Engineering at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia. His research focuses on the nexus between energy and the environment. He earned a Master of Science degree in Engineering Sciences from Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico, where his thesis concentrated on quantifying the environmental impacts of renewable energy sources, such as geothermal energy. Additionally, he holds an MBA with a specialization in sustainable development from Universidad del Valle de Mexico.
With a background in Mechatronics Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey, Holkan is a passionate young researcher dedicated to climate change, the circular economy, and sustainable development. Currently, he is working under the supervision of Dr. Mani Sarathy as part of a team that focuses on the sustainability assessments of e-fuels.
